Clipper A/S cares - we hope you do, too
At Clipper A/S, it is all about making an effort - not just with our products, but also with the way we care for both human rights and the environment.
Clipper A/S was established in 1955 in Herning and is built on strong traditions and fine craftsmanship. Over the years, the company has grown into an international business with a strong sense of responsibility.
In 2012 we joined the UN Global Compact which is a principle-based framework for businesses, stating ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.
Every year, we strive to improve the quality of our products as well as the way in which we live up to the Ten Principles. At the same time, we urge our suppliers and business partners to support and live up to the same principles.
We are proud to make an effort - in the hope of a better tomorrow.

People - our core capital
What would Clipper A/S be without the people who work here? Well, not much! That's why we consider people to be our core capital.
We care for our employees, involve them in our planning and decision-making processes, and ask for their feedback. We welcome an open and honest dialogue and are determined to improve both internal and external working conditions.
As our customer, you can always rest assured, that we respect basic human rights conventions in Denmark and in the countries in which our products are produced, and that we do our very best to meet fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labour and anti-corruption.
Suppliers
We focus on the way we work internally as well as externally in our organisation - because we believe that the way our suppliers do business reflects directly on us.
Our strong Danish roots and our commitment to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact are our starting point when defining our expectations of subcontractors with regard to quality, environment and work processes.
At Clipper A/S, we find it natural to combine good tradesmanship with these high standards. And we are proud to say that our suppliers generally have workers standards which are higher than required by local legislation.
We strive for long term relations with our suppliers. We believe, that together we can grow.

We have children's welfare at heart
For many years, we have supported Land of Hope - a non-profit organisation fighting for children's rights.
Land of Hope is a voluntary association fighting to save the so-called witch children in Nigeria, where the belief in witches is a big problem. You may already have heard of Anja Lovén, Hope and all the other children, that Anja has saved.
Clipper A/S sponsors a nurse for the orphanage, so the children can get the right care, and so that illnesses can be prevented.
You can read much more about Land of Hope at the homepage of the association.
Plan Planet Earth
We would rather go the extra mile to find the right environmental solution than choose the easier and cheaper one.
We are aware of our environmental responsibilities and strive to make our production as sustainable as possible. Consequently, we expect all of our suppliers to comply with the REACH regulations and the STANDARD 100 by OEKOTEX® for raw materials.
Sourcing new suppliers who focus on reducing the use of chemicals, water and dyestuff is always a main focus point. Furthermore, we love slow fashion! With our eternal classics in a quality that offers a longer product life span, we hope to promote a more ethical and sustainable way of consuming.
With respect for the environment.
Animal welfare
Injuring animals to make clothes is just not okay! That's why it is our goal to use only mulesing free yarns.
Animal welfare is important to us. Since many of our products are manufactured from wool, one of our main focus points is the welfare of the sheep, that supply the wool.
Mulesing is a surgical practice to prevent fly-strike, which is often performed without anaesthetization. Today however, more humane alternatives exist making mulesing unnecessary.
By the end of 2020, we will be fully on target and already now, more than 70% of our products are guaranteed mulesing free.
