This is how to take care of your knitted corporate wear
Wool corporate wear
Wool has some very unique properties that provide amazing comfort – all year round. And with the right care, a wool sweater keeps looking nice year after year.
Wool should not be washed – it should be aired out
It is rarely necessary to wash wool. Hang it outside to be aired out - preferably as humidly as possible. This cleans the wool and it regains its shape.
The secret behind safe machine washing of wool
Sometimes, it can be necessary to wash wool clothes. Almost all our C.C.FIFTY-FIVE (CC55) wool products are machine washable.
Total Easy Care makes life easier
Total Easy Care means that the wool product can be dried in a tumble dryer at low temperature. The lifespan of your knitwear will inevitably be slightly reduced – but in return, it makes life a little easier.
In the C.C.FIFTY-FIVE (CC55) collection, you will find selected products labelled Total Easy Care.
- Turn the clothes inside out
- Use the machine's wool programme at 40oC
- Use a detergent for wool
- Let your wool knitwear dry flat (you can put it on a hanger when it is almost dry)
2+2 = 5
How to make your knitted sweater last longer
Do you sometimes get complaints that a knitted sweater will fuzz (or pill in technical terminology)? Unfortunately, this is quite normal when working with natural materials such as wool. But you can do something to avoid this!
Be preventative, making 2+2 = 5
It is good for wool to rest 24 hours after use, so the wool fibres have time to regain their natural elasticity and shape. Therefore, if you wear a knitted sweater every day, you need two to alternate between. This way, two and two equals five... Or in practice; 1+1 sweater = the durability of 3 sweaters.
When the damage is done
Has your knitted sweater already become fuzzy? Don’t worry – you can still save it. You can easily remove pilling with a textile shaver! And luckily, pilling is reduced over time, as the loose wool fibres work their way out of the fabric.
Caring for cotton
Cotton uniforms are comfortable, durable, easy to wash and have great absorptive power.
Cotton clothes should be washed according to the care label and preferably with a detergent suitable for the product’s colour.
It would be a good idea to skip a wash once in a while and simply hang your cotton sweater outside overnight or during a humid day. This will remove any smells and freshen up your sweater.
